Back in 1997, Ric Fox and his four partners opened Shaggy's Caribbean Grill in Austin, Texas. Shaggy's closed in 2000, but it's signature dish, Jamaican jerk chicken lived on. Every month for many years, Ric would set up his barbeque pit at the First Thursday street festival and sell his spicy, mouth-watering Jerk chicken to festival goers.

Pretty soon, people began asking if they could get the recipe for the jerk sauce Ric used in preparing his chicken. Since then, Ric and his wife Crystal have been working on a way to provide their delicious barbecue marinade to their friends and former restaurant customers. Their hard work has finally paid off.
